Our Christmas 2020 Opening Hours

Here are details of John Godber Centre Christmas and New Year opening hours: The Centre will close the afternoon of Monday 21st December 2020 until 8.30am on Monday 4th January 2021 but will be open for the following – Wednesday 23rd for Slimming World (8.00am-10.30am and 3pm-3.30pm) and Zumbini (10.15 and 11.15) Wednesday the 30th (8.30am-10.30am and 3pm-3.30pm) and Saturday 2nd January (times TBC) for Slimming World. Thank you to all Centre users, your patience and loyalty during this difficult year has been much appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you and helping to play host to your life events in 2021.

We’re Good To Go – at the John Godber Centre

The John Godber Centre has successfully applied for the “We’re Good to Go” Industry Standard accreditation from Visit England. “We’re Good To Go” is the official UK mark to signal that a tourism and hospitality business has worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and has a Risk Assessment and processes in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing. Latest guidance on face coverings in relation to the JGC

From today (Friday 24th July) face coverings are now mandatory in additional enclosed public spaces including shops, supermarkets, shopping centres and transport hubs. Wearing a face covering is NOT mandatory in other venues that have measures in place to protect staff and the public from COVID-19. The John Godber Centre, as a community venue has worked with hirers and staff to create a robust risk assessment of control measures to reduce the risk of transmission in the venue, with social distance and increased hygiene procedures in place, and at the current time masks are not mandatory for those working and visiting the building. Ceroc Freestyle – July 2020

Ceroc Freestyle! 8pm - Midnight Don't forget: we're now also running Ceroc classes every Tuesday evening, which are a great success and means there will be an influx of brand new dancers experiencing their very first freestyle! This lovely venue is a real gem and has a fantastic sprung dance floor, a licensed bar and plenty of parking (it's a pay and display car park on site but totally free after 6pm!). The fabulous Ashley Davis or Mark O'Reilly will be your DJ for the evening. Book in advance for £8 at www.cerocheaven.com or pay £9 on the night.

Reopening of the John Godber Centre – update 9.7.20 As these uncertain times continue, we write to up-date you on the plans we are making for reopening the John Godber Centre. From the 4th July community venues are able to reopen if they are able to be made COVID Secure but only for some types of activities. Our venue is many things, a place of celebration, a place of community, a place of business and alongside the guidance we need to implement for our multi use venue to keep staff and users safe we also need to ensure we protect finances and remain in a financially stable position to protect employment and charitable aims long term.
