Funeral receptions
Our staff at The John Godber have many years experience in sympathetically attending to requirements at this difficult time. Organising an after-funeral reception can add to the stress of loosing a family member or close friend but our staff will be on hand to ensure that your time of remembrance and celebration of your loved one’s life will be treated with care and respect that the day deserves.

The John Godber Centre has a selection of function rooms available to accommodate 10 – 200 guests.

We understand that timings and numbers for funeral receptions are difficult to manage, especially if most of your guests are coming to the Centre before the close family. Our Duty Manager will welcome them and ensure they are directed to your private room and are served drinks while they wait for your family to arrive from the crematorium or cemetery and remain nearby for any other requirements you may have.

Catering and Room Hire Packages:

The Centre can offer a number of rooms for your reception to accommodate your expected guest numbers which includes the following:
  • Private use of your chosen function room and bar area
  • The bar will be open for your guests for the duration of your reception
  • Tables and chairs laid out to your specification with suitable table linen

Up to 30 people - £60.00*
Downstairs Bar and Seminar Room

*Price based on 2 hours room hire.

Up to 80 people - £75.00*
Byron Suite, Seminar Room, Downstairs Bar

*Price based on 2 hours room hire.

Up to 200 people - £85.00*
Main Hall and Upstairs Bar

*Price based on 2 hours room hire.

All menus can be amended or tailored to suit your individual requirements. Disposable plates, napkins and cutlery are included in the price.
