At the John Godber Centre we understand that your wedding day will be a day that you will remember for a lifetime and one that will remain in the memory of your guests for a long time to come.
You will benefit from our in-house dedicated wedding planning team. We take the utmost care in the preparation and execution of each of our events.
Whatever the size of your wedding we have a range of rooms and facilities to suit all your needs including two bars, a large reception hall, two ground floor suites and a grand staircase, offering ideal photo opportunities.
You can be as creative as you want to with our blank canvas rooms. We can offer suggestions on how to decorate your room and add those individual touches to make your reception unique.
The spacious Portland is perfect for Wedding celebrations, with its own private entrance from the car park and St Mary Magdalene Church's churchyard. The hall benefits from a large stage to add a unique touch to your wedding reception and is ideal for bands and DJs, with a private adjoining bar area.
The Portland can hold up to 120 guests for a seated meal with dance floor or 200 guests for an evening reception.
We can create a package to suit everyone’s style but we have also tailored a number of packages to suit all tastes and budgets, and ensure your guests’ expectations are always exceeded. We can also help you source musicians, children’s entertainment, florists, hotels and transport; helping you to create your most special day.
Basic Room hire package for weddings £400.00

Bronze Wedding Reception Package £700.00
- All day access to the Portland from 9.30am

Silver Wedding Reception Package £1,250.00
- All day access to the Main Hall from 9.30am
- Bar open during the reception until 11pm
- Tables and chairs laid out to your specifications dressed with table linen
- Use of the kitchen for caterers
- Cake stand and cake knife
- DJ to play at your reception 16.00 – 23.00
- Chair Covers with organza sashes in your chosen colour scheme*

Gold Wedding Reception Package £2,000
- All day access to the Main Hall from 9.30am
- Bar open during the reception until 11pm
- Decorated chairs with covers and sashes
- Tables and chairs laid out to your specifications dressed with table linen
- Use of the kitchen for caterers
- Cake stand and cake knife
- DJ to play at your reception 16.00 – 23.00
- Chair Covers with organza sashes in your chosen colour scheme*
- Postbox for guests cards for the happy couple

The John Godber Centre is a licensed venue and therefore all drinks must be purchased from the Centres bars and as such the venue does not offer dry hire or corkage options
