Duty Manager
16 or 24 hours per week primarily evenings and weekends
£20,238 (pro-rata) salary review on completion of probation + annual salary reviews

The Centre is looking to recruit a part time duty manager to join the team as we continue to increase bookings and events.

  • Reporting to the Centre Manager you would be responsible for the smooth day to day operation of the Centre, ensuring high standards of service are maintained and that our customers enjoy their time with us
  • You will be part of a team of duty managers and actively supervise and co-ordinate the operation of the building including setting rooms, administrative duties, liaising with customers, events management and bar service.
  • The hours of work will primarily be evenings and weekends but may involve some weekday day shifts to cover holiday and busy periods of work, where possible, by agreement. We are keen to discuss the contracted hours with the right candidate and are able to offer a 16/24 hours post
  • If you are self-motivated, enjoy a challenge and want to make a difference to the local community this may be the post for you. This role would be ideal for a proactive team player with excellent communication skills and high standards, a ‘can do’ attitude to deliver great customer service for regular hirers and one off events.
    No day is ever the same and you will meet a variety of people and help host a range of events and activities including wedding receptions, parties, meetings, classes and groups.

    Cleaning Support Team Member
    8 hours per week primarily one fixed evening and weekends (mornings/afternoons)
    £9.50 per hour

    As we reurn to pre-lockdown levels and increase bookings the Centre is looking to recruit an additional cleaning support team member to join the team.

  • Reporting to the Centre Manager you would be responsible for ensuring rooms are prepared to the appropriate layouts and cleaned for rental and then cleaned after use (includes wedding receptions and private parties. Church, business and community group bookings)
  • You will be part of a team of cleaning support team members who play a crucial role in the day to day operations of the John Godber Centre and ensure cleaning schedules are maintained and all rooms, bars, toilets, kitchen and public areas are clean and tidy and ready for use.
  • The hours of work will primarily be one fixed weekday evening and Saturdays and Sundays to cover morning opening or afternoon hours with a weekly rota planned around events. Additional hours to cover holidays and busy periods of work, where possible, will be offered by mutual agreement.

    Bar Team Members

    Looking for a part time job that’s suitable for you, your family and other commitments? Want to earn an extra income but need hours that are flexible or looking for something part time around studies and social appointments?

  • We’re looking for friendly, reliable and outgoing team members to join our bar team to serve at functions including wedding receptions, parties and social events at our busy community venue in the heart of Hucknall. As we continue to increase bookings and events post COVID we have a growing diary of events alongside our private hire bookings and are looking for additional team members to join our bar and events team.
  • Shifts are planned monthly in advance so work around you’re other commitments and plans. We offer various hours and days and full training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • We have a close knit team of bar staff, cleaning support staff and duty managers here at the John Godber Centre and all work together to deliver a high service level for all our customers so they and their guests have memorable events. The Centre has two licenced bars, and various function rooms with weekend bookings for weddings, socials and parties, christening receptions and occasional weekday socials and gatherings.
