DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately\, we’ve made the tough decision to postpone our upcoming Back to School Adults Disco\, originally scheduled for this Saturday evening.\n\nWhile there’s been fantastic interest in the concept\, the booked numbers just aren’t quite where we’d need them to create the party atmosphere we’re aiming for with this new event format. Rather than go ahead with a more intimate crowd\, we want to ensure the event atmosphere matches the excitement and success of our other annual events — and that everyone has a truly memorable evening.\n\nWe’re sorry for any disappointment this may cause\, particularly to those who had already booked tickets — we know you were looking forward to it\, and so were we! Our team\, along with the brilliant crew from Festers Disco\, had been putting lots of energy into the décor\, entertainment\, and planning\, so this wasn’t a decision made lightly.\n\nA huge thank you to everyone who booked and supported us. SUMMARY:Community Craft Fair - September
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for our September Community Craft Fair \nThese new regular events are a lovely crafternoon for the whole community to enjoy welcoming craft stalls along with community and charity stalls and a warm and friendly welcome each time to our community venue in Hucknall.  \nThere will be a cakes and refreshments area to raise funds for our registered charities and a children’s activity corner for younger visitors.  Our hope is to provide a place to meet and catchup in the local area and shop some wonderful creatives and sip.  \nWe welcome new stall holders selling crafts\, gifts\, books and beauty as well as regular stall holders who have stood with us in the past at our festive and seasonal events.  \nThe John Godber Centre and its churches are part of registered charity (charity number 1132272) and stall hire as well as funds raised on the day contribute to our activities and refurbishments. \nWe’re pleased to share Your Time Believe Belong Become CIC will be joining us raising funds for their group that is based in the John Godber Centre\, registered CIC number 13577843.\nThe lovely Your Time team and their wonderful volunteers will be selling refreshments and cakes during the event and also have a tombola and children’s lucky dip.\nThe group meets here on a Friday and encourages people to come together weekly and also arranges outings and activities creating positive experiences and working on mindsets. The group works on wellbeing\, mindset and body confidence and arranges members to come together and spend some time away from the normal hustle and bustle of life\, finding time for ourselves “your time”  \nThose interested in booking a stall at the events please contact us on 0115 963 9633 or by email reception@johngodbercentre.co.uk. Septembers event is now sold out but we do have space for our October event on the 5th October.  \n \nSo many events\, one great venue 💜

SUMMARY:Preferred Homes - International Day of Older People Celebration
DESCRIPTION:International Day of older people (which officially falls on the 1st October) is about how older people play an integral part in strengthening the social fabric of our communities; as workers\, carers\, volunteers\, activists and connectors.\n\nJoin us on Friday 26th September from 12pm – 3pm to celebrate International Day of Older People\n\nThe event is being coordinated by Preferred Homes\, who are currently developing affordable extra care apartments for over 55s on Watnall Road\, which are due for completion in Spring 2026 and the John Godber Centre are delighted to be an event partner and co-host this community event.\n\nWe hope this event can celebrate and promote the connections and activities that we all provide for our local older community and will feature –\n* A number of community stalls promoting activities and community groups that take place in the Hucknall area\n* Pop-up performances from musicians and singers across the area\n* Enjoy the refreshment area with free tea\, coffee and biscuits and a catchup with others\n* Find out more about Preferred Homes new Extra Care Apartments\n\nFurther information will be shared ahead of the event but please do put the date in your calendar now and come join us to see what happens in the local area for you to get involved in and enjoy an afternoon celebration.\nThe event is free to attend and you can register your interest to attend by scanning the QR code or calling Diane on  07833 992 401.\n\nAnyone interested in a stall to promote their community organisation and activities to celebrate their relation to everything later in life can contact Anna Franks on – anna@annafranksmarketing.com
