SUMMARY:Preferred Homes - International Day of Older People Celebration
DESCRIPTION:International Day of older people (which officially falls on the 1st October) is about how older people play an integral part in strengthening the social fabric of our communities; as workers\, carers\, volunteers\, activists and connectors.\n\nJoin us on Friday 26th September from 12pm – 3pm to celebrate International Day of Older People\n\nThe event is being coordinated by Preferred Homes\, who are currently developing affordable extra care apartments for over 55s on Watnall Road\, which are due for completion in Spring 2026 and the John Godber Centre are delighted to be an event partner and co-host this community event.\n\nWe hope this event can celebrate and promote the connections and activities that we all provide for our local older community and will feature –\n* A number of community stalls promoting activities and community groups that take place in the Hucknall area\n* Pop-up performances from musicians and singers across the area\n* Enjoy the refreshment area with free tea\, coffee and biscuits and a catchup with others\n* Find out more about Preferred Homes new Extra Care Apartments\n\nFurther information will be shared ahead of the event but please do put the date in your calendar now and come join us to see what happens in the local area for you to get involved in and enjoy an afternoon celebration.\nThe event is free to attend and you can register your interest to attend by scanning the QR code or calling Diane on  07833 992 401.\n\nAnyone interested in a stall to promote their community organisation and activities to celebrate their relation to everything later in life can contact Anna Franks on – anna@annafranksmarketing.com
