The Elemental Theatre Group return to The John Godber Centre to present John Godber’s Shakers

Join Elemental Theatre Company for one night only as we convert The John Godber Centre, Hucknall into the home of Shakers Cocktail Bar with servers Nicky (Chris Stevenson), Mel (Paula Heeley), Carol (Rebecca Mitchel) & Adele (Ellen Beer).
Written by Teechers writer John Godber and Jane Thornton, audience members are in for a treat as ETC sprinkle twists, turns and immersive theatre onto this classic 1984 play which still dominates theatres across the world.
Every town has its Shakers, the oh so trendy cocktail bar where everyone wants to be seen, from the checkout girls to the chinless wonders, from the luvvies to the local lads tittering at the thought of a “long slow comfortable screw”. Shakers gives a wickedly funny glimpse of this world as seen through the eyes of the four long-suffering bar workers, offering a fascinating view of the reality that lurks behind the plastic palms and the Pina Coladas.
